Tuna Salad

It's been oddly really hot the past two days so I've decided to make a cold dish my family loves to eat. Tuna macaroni salad!
The above ingredients are the basic stuff to add to the macaronis: chopped carrots, celery, onions, eggs and tuna! The ratio I usually use is 1:1:0.5 of carrots, celery and onion. I boiled lots of eggs and just add them as I  deem appropriate. (The leftover boiled eggs, I bring to work). And I used 2 cans of tuna. If you are a serious tuna lover, you might want to use 3 cans of tuna.

In this case, I also added imitation crab meat for a bit of sweetness! Mix. Then add mayo. To each his own. My sister doesn't really like mayo so when she is home, I don't add much. My dad loves mayo! But I try to keep him in good health so I don't add as much as he would prefer, but enough that he still loves the dish and would go back for seconds and thirds.

Tonight, my boyfriend seared and baked top sirloin and we added this to our meal. It was soooooooooo fantastically delicious!!!

A Somewhat British Breakfast

For a somewhat British breakfast, add tomatoes! We didn't grill ours as you can see but baby tomatoes are delicious without being grilled.
For a true British Breakfast, go here.

Steamed Basa Fillets

Place sliced gingers on the bottom of the pan. Place dried fish on top. Steam for about 7-8 minutes or until done. Layer chopped chives on top. And pour sauce on top.
To make sauce, mix 1:1:1 ratio of water, soy sauce and bonito flavoured soup base. And add 2-3 tbs of sesame oil. Boil.

And here's the final result! It was delicious!

Beer Batter Cheese Bread

This was an amazing appetizer! When I came home from work and found these babies, I chowed down on three thick slices. By the time dinner rolled around, I wasn't too hungry... It was soooooooo yummy!!

Boyfriend tried this new recipe where the bread batter was mixed with beer (we used dos equis) in place of yeast. It was quick and pretty amazing. It was also topped with walnuts. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Buffalo Wings

My bf made these deliciousness and I've no idea how. No, these are not store bought and microwaved. All I can say is that we bought frozen raw drumsticks/wings and my bf turned them into these deliciousness. The ones on the left are for people like me who aren't big on spicy and the plate on the right has some spice to it.

Breaded Basa Fillets

What you need: basa fillets (or any white fish) rinsed and drained of water. Flour mixed with a bit of fish fry. Egg wash. Bread Crumbs.
Bread Crumbs can be made by toasting 2-3 slices of bread in your toaster, cool it in the fridge and then toast it again. Then place the toasted bread in your food processor. I added a bit of dried parsley and kosher salt and pepper. Taste to make sure it's okay. You can add pretty much whatever you want as long as there's no liquid.

To make this beauty, first wipe off excess water from fish and dredge through flour. Then dip it in the eggwash. And lastly, dredge through the bread crumbs. Cook it on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes or until done. Fish pieces should flake easily.

This was unbelievably delicious, especially since this was a first time recipe! I'll definitely be making this again!

Fried Rice!

To make this yummy dish, you need a day old rice, chinese sausages, chives, scrambled eggs, soy sauce and onions. First you wanna saute the onions til they're a wee bit brown. Add the rice and saute till the rice is all broken up. Pour in a bit of soy sauce for that slightly brown colour. Set aside.

Then scramble up your eggs. When they're almost done, add the chopped sausages. We added a can of Vienna sausages too just because.

When it's just about ready, add the chopped chives.
Plate and then chow down on such awesome tasty fried rice!

Linguine with ground beef tomato sauce topped with shredded sharp cheddar and a side of broccoli. Slurrrrrrrrp!

Cheesy cheeseburger 1-2-3

Step 1. Toast the buns

Step 2. Sandwich a slice of American cheese or any other better tasting cheese you have available between two ground beef patties and grill.

Step 3. Plate. Cheesy cheeseburger has an additional slice of cheese on top of the cheesy patty and sandwiched by toasted buns. Too bad we didn't have tomatoes or sliced pickles. If you want crunch, you can always add doritos to your burger! When you take that first bite, cheese would be oozing so make sure you have a napkin handy!

Macaroni Chicken Pasta

I would say that pasta is our go-to meal if we don't have anything prepared to cook for the night. We always stock up on Prego pasta sauce, some kind of pasta and we always seem to have broccoli. This time, we had leftover grilled chicken, chopped, and added to our pasta.

Turkey Meatloaf

I used 3lbs of ground turkey mixed with 3t salt and 1egg. Add in 1 chopped carrot, 1 chopped cucumber, and 1 chopped onion. In a separate mixture, food process 8oz croutons, 6t brown sugar, 3t paprika, 2t dried thyme, 1.5t chili pepper, 1t ground cumin, 1/2t black pepper. Then add to meat mixture as well. Mold into loaf shape and place in 350 degree Fahrenheit oven.

For the glaze, mix 1c ketchup, 4-5 dashes of Worcestershire sauce, 2t ground cumin, and 3T brown sugar.

After baking meatloaf for 10 minutes, add the glaze and continue to bake for another 30 minutes. After which, the recipe calls for upping the heat to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for another 40 minutes or until done.

When the meat loaf was finally cooked, it looked like the above.

It was pretty delicious! We made extra glaze on the side for a super yummy dinner!

Banana Bread with Cherries!

Remember when I said we'd buy more bananas? Well, this is what I made with them:

This is the same recipe as the banana nut bread. Just add chopped fresh cherries in place of raisins!

I doubled the batter so I can make 12 muffins AND

a yummy loaf

I think I should've added more cherries as I couldn't really taste'em. Oh well, I'll get it right next time. At least it's still delicious! I managed to snap a pic before all the muffins were gone!

Such deliciousness!!! We can't get enough!!!
