Jook

Top clockwise: XO sauce (scallop), fried gluten, fried egg, pickled cucumbers, fried dace with black beans.

Jook (aka rice porridge) is a great on a cold night. I made this jook with cooked brown rice in Swanson chicken broth. Pretty much just cook the rice some more until it's soggy. I added another egg in there for fun. Usually, we would use the hundred year old egg, but we didn't have any. Chomp down with the sides pictured above! One of my favorite dishes for a chilly night.
